Omega 3 Fish Oil,, Vitamin B100, Vitamin C, Melatonin, Magnesium Taurate, Potassium Citrate, Bioperine ®, Alpha Lipoic Acid, I3C, DIMM, NAC

Omega 3 Fish Oil
Helps with cardiovascular health, anti-inflammatory, elevated Triglycerides. Oil from fish contains eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA); both are omega-3 fatty acids.
Typically, Omega 3 Fish oils contain 18% EPA, and 12% DHA. Studies on Omega 3 fatty acid benefit, have shown that necessary levels are 3 grams a day of EPA/DHA.  Since these fatty acids are present in 18% and 12% respectively, this would mean a person would need to take a 10 grams of fish oil a day.  The Vitamin Journal doesn't necessarily recommend taking 10 grams of fish oil a day, but it does recommend taking more that the typical one capsule of 500mg fish oil that the typical person takes, and thinks that this is giving them a healthy dose. A total of 3 grams of fish oil a day would provide more healthy EPA/DHA fatty acid levels.  If you suffer from diabetes, exercising 3days a week and taking 400 I.U. of vitamin E with fish oil will help avoid theoretical rises in blood sugar. Keep your fish oil in the refrigerator.

Vitamin D3

The research supporting Vitamin D3 supplementation is astounding.  However, caution needs to be taken with Vitamin D3 supplementation,  because it is a fat soluble vitamin, which means too much can cause harm.  That being said, in many parts of the USA, the population is Vitamin D deficient.  Being a pro-hormone, it is vital to health.  Even though the body makes its own Vitamin D via skin exposure to the sun, many people are still deficient.  Ask your doctor to measure your 25-OH Vitamin D levels. Then go about supplementation, retesting about every three months till you reach therapeutic levels.
Researchers at the Sunlight, Nutrition and Health Research Center in San Francisco report that 1000 IU of vitamin D daily would significantly reduce cancer rates throughout Europe and North America. Provision of 1000 IU of vitamin D in fortified foods would cost about $1 billion but produce cost savings of about $16–25 billion. [Recent Results Cancer Research 174: 225–34, 2007

Vitamin E

If you are taking Vitamin E take the Gamma Version

Vitamin K

If you are taking high doses of Omega 3 fish oil you should be supplementing with Vitamin K

Vitamin B100 Complex
Necessary vitamin for many metabolic functions.  Alcohol and/or nicotine intake rob the body of these vitamins. Vitamins B1, B2, B3, and biotin are utilized in different aspects of energy production. Vitamin B6 is necessary for amino acid metabolism. Vitamin B12 and folic acid are utilized  cell division which is necessary for tissue growth and repair.

Vitamin C
Antioxidant and antihistamine properties. Helps diminish the oxidation of LDL cholesterol, the "bad" form of cholesterol.  Much has been written about the best dose to take. RDA for non smoking adults is 75mg per day, and 110mg per day for smoking women, and 125mg per day for smoking men. Nobel Prize winning scientist Linus Pauling, who supported raising the RDA, was said to take doses in the grams.  Since this is a water-soluble vitamin, what your body doesn't need, you kidneys with excrete. People taking multiple medications should consult the primary care provider before taking larger doses. For those not taking regular medications it should be alright to take 1000mg per day.

Melatonin Slow Release
Melatonin is a hormone produced by your pineal gland.  It regulates your biological clock. Has been shown to enhance chemotherapeutic agents in the treatment of cancer. Usual recommended dose is 1mg-3mg, though some people take 3mg normal release c combine with 3mg slow release, for a total of 6mg.
If you want to get the best absorption, try sublingual melatonin, and start with 1mg sublingual 1/2 hour before bedtime. You may adjust up as necessary. Caution in those trying to get pregnant, as overdosing melatonin can alter ovary hormone production.

Magnesium Taurate

Magnesium Citrate

Magnesium is necessary for many metabolic functions. Magnesium comes in many forms, some of which are poorly absorbed.  Cheap over the counter forms of Magnesium Oxide have poor absorption. Since magnesium is helpful in so many metabolic processes, and is commonly deficient is most of the population, supplementation is helpful.  We recommend Magnesium Taurate.  If you can't find this form, then Magnesium Glycinate or Magnesium Citrate will suffice. Caution in patients with kidney problems, consult your primary care provider first, before supplementation.

Potassium Citrate
Potassium is essential to neuromuscular function, water balance and fluid regulation, blood pressure as well as cardiac electrical activity. Some researchers believe that due to the high sodium based salt content of our American diets, that the crucial "sodium-potassium" cellular pump is  imbalanced, resulting in a improper ration of potassium to sodium, which in turn may be a cause of  high blood pressure, also known as hypertension.  Supplementing, with small amounts, approximately 99mg per day, will help those with high blood pressure, as well as those suffering from kidney stones. Caution in patients with kidney problems, consult your primary care provider first, before supplementation.

Bioperine ®

Bioperine is from the Pepper Fruit plant. It has been shown to enhance the absorption of vitamins and supplements through its interaction with the lining of the small intestine. If your spending money on vitamins supplements, your wasting money if you don't add this to your regimen

Alpha Lipoic Acid

Also referred to as the universal antioxidant because it is soluble in water and fat. 100mg twice a day, or 300mg once in the morning

I3C
Indole-3-Carbinol

I3C is a anticancer substance found in cruciferous.  Studies indicate it helps in shunting the metabolism of Estrogen from the dangerous 16 Hydroxyestrone, to the
2 Hydroxyestrone

If you take regular medication for reflux or stomach acid, then you should take DIMM instead.

CoQ10

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) , aka- ubiquinone, is a necessary enzyme for cellular metabolism. Good for helping those with hypertension, heart problems, and those on statin drugs.

N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine

The body processes toxins through the body. One of the largest processors of free radicals and toxins is glutathione. NAC is a precursor to glutathione.  Pharmaceutical grade NAC is utilized to combat acetaminophen toxicity.
